Mr. Hamilton began his career in public accounting after graduating from Drake University in 1971. He joined the Des Moines office of Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co as an intern in September 1969 and became a full time associate in January 1972. In 1980, he was elected to partner. In 1984 he was put in charge of the tax department of the firm’s Des Moines office, which he ran until 2005. During this time he also served on various firm committees, including the tax practice committee. In January 2006, he left KPMG to open the accounting firm of Hamilton Juffer + Associates llp of which he is president. He provides accounting and tax consulting services to many area businesses, executives and high-net worth individuals. His tax planning practice includes corporations, partnerships, tax exempt organizations, individuals, estates and trusts. In addition to being a CPA he is a PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) and a ChFC (Charted Financial Consultant).

He is active in professional and community organizations, currently serving on the board of directors of The Salisbury House and Gardens, the Mercy Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines advisory council. Mr. Hamilton previously served as president of the Des Moines Club, on the board of Science Center of Iowa (former chairman) and as a board member of the Iowa Taxpayers Association. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, Des Moines Tax Forum and Des Moines Estate Planners.

Mr. Juffer graduated from Iowa State University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and earned a Juris doctorate from Drake Law School in 1993. He has been working in public accounting since 1992 in all areas of taxation and financial planning. Mr. Juffer left KPMG as a senior manager, to launch the accounting firm of Hamilton Juffer + Associates llp. Mr. Juffer has worked with corporate executives, high-net worth individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts. His experience in all of these areas allows him to be a valued advisor for his clients. He is currently serving as a board member of the Science Center of Iowa, on the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation Professionals Advisory committee, and the United Way of Central Iowa’s Advisory Counsel.

Professionally, Mr. Juffer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Iowa Bar.

Ken Noyce has a broad base of experience and real world knowledge that makes him uniquely equipped to offer specialized insights into all aspects of business, finance and investing.

Mr. Noyce understands the entrepreneurial fire that drives many HJN clients; before joining the firm he guided three early-stage technology companies. He implemented business strategies, developed proprietary technology for patenting, oversaw corporate finance, raised venture capital, rolled out national products, developed distribution channels, and created manufacturing facilities from the ground up.

Not only has Mr. Noyce worked to build businesses from the ground up, but he has also served as a financial analyst with Shell Oil Company and worked with the company that is now MidAmerican Energy to develop strategic planning.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Mr. Noyce earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Drake University as well as an MBA. He and his wife, Julia, have four children. His interests outside work include photography, SCUBA diving, sailing and volunteer work.

Jeff Bratz takes great pride in designing a customized plan for his clients that integrates all of their major financial goals within a living, breathing plan. He’s a dedicated financial professional and brings a methodical approach to financial planning, investment planning, and retirement planning. He developed this rigorous, holistic perspective after years of hard-earned experience in business, insurance, financial planning and investment management.

“I believe that a plan must include all areas of your financial life. Most plans don’t take into consideration cash flow, tax implications, investment strategies, and risk management techniques. At HJN Advisors we look at the big picture—the financial ecosystem—and have the experience and knowledge to help you coordinate and monitor all of these areas.”

Mr. Bratz is a Certified Financial Planner and received his master’s degree in financial planning from Kansas State University. His interests include spending time with family and friends, mountain biking in Colorado, training for Ironman triathlons, participating in cycling races, and traveling. He is also passionate about volunteering his time for various community organizations. He lives in West Des Moines with his wife Carmen and two young sons.

Mr. Bratz is also a Registered Representative of Ausdal Financial Partners, Inc. (Member FINRA/SIPC), a registered broker-dealer, and is separately licensed for life insurance products.

Kyndi Jensen has extensive background in the banking and finance industry and exudes a passion for assisting clients with their financial objectives. She believes that providing value happens through the development of solid relationships that are founded on integrity and trust.

Ms. Jensen joined HJN Advisors in 2008. Before that, she accumulated a mosaic of financial experience working for First American Bank in Ames, Principal Financial Group’s Pension Services Department and Roshek Financial Services. She possesses the Iowa Health and Life Insurance license and is also licensed in FINRA Series 6, Series 7 and Series 63.

A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in family resource management and consumer science, she resides in Urbandale, Iowa, with her husband, Geoff. They both enjoy sporting events, physical fitness and working with youth. Ms. Jensen is also actively involved in the nonprofit organization Mentor Iowa.
